blessings2you posted: A couple of different things happened yesterday which have really made me think about a subject rarely brought up anymore. The first thing was my wife (blest) bringing home two used loser scratch off lottery tickets left on a table where she works as a waitress. Initially we thought they might have a $2 prize or something, but in reality they were proof that somebody wasted whatever it costs to purchase those two tickets.The second thing was when we turned on the television to watch a previously recorded show, there was a commercial for one of the kazillion restaurants/shops in the latest casino to open in our area. I think this is either the sixth or seventh casino now open in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Of course in our state and in Illinois these places are supposed to be on the river or built in it.What struck me watching...
